4 patterns for the Shell Kneeler, one on paper and three on card. a) is a copy of a pencil outline drawing signed by Edward Maufe, b) is a copy of a pen outline drawing, annotated “16¼ x 10½” at lower edge, c) is a pen and pencil outline drawing on squared paper with some watercolour added to parts of the design, d) is a copy of a pencil outline drawing on squared paper backed onto heavy board with some watercolour added, signed by Edward Maufe. The design depicts a cockle shell (possibly a reference to St James/Santiago) at the centre with small flame motifs around.
