Floor for Lady's Chapel
Black and white photograph of group of workmen on iron work ready for the concrete for the floor of the Lady’s Chapel. On the back: New Guildford Cathedral Progress. Work is now well under way at Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey, on the third Church of England cathedral to be built since the days of Sir Christopher Wren. The oath-cathedral is being built of reinforced concrete on a site described as one of the finest in the country. A 35ft. trak cross, made from timber from the old H.M.S. Ganges marks the site.
