Second Annual General Meeting of the Guildford New Cathedral Fund Council April 1956
There had been a disappointing delay in the building of the seven bays of the Nave, this was due to a shortage of building labour and to the delay in the supply of Doulting Stone. The builders had overcome these difficulties and the speed of building has much increased. The cottages were now being built on the South side of the Cathedral site, when completed these would provide accommodation for a custodian and for a man who would look after technical requirements in regard to the heating, care of the land etc. These men were greatly needed to reduce the strain of looking after the property and visitors to the Cathedral.
Miss Iredale gave a full report.
