Minutes of the Cathedral Site Committee 1933
28th January 1933: There was a list of those present and those who sent their apologies. The Archdeacon reported he received an estimate from Messers Castles for the erection of the cross on Stag Hill for one hundred and twenty eight pounds, five shillings and 0 pence. The cross was made from Teak from HMS Battleship ‘Ganges’ and to be 35 feet above ground.
2nd June 1933: There was a list of those present and those who sent their apologies. The Archdeacon reported on the progress of the informative campaign. There had been an account of the Cathedral project in The Guardian.
3rd July 1933: There was a list of those present and those who sent their apologies. ‘A vote of thanks was unanimously passed to Sir Laurence Halsey for his generosity in paying for the supplement on the Cathedral to the Guardian of May 19th 1933’
9th November 1933: There was a list of those present and those who sent their apologies. It was decided to have a combined fund which would be known as ‘The New Cathedral and Churches Fund’
