Cathedral Minutes December 1953
The £500 p.a. from the Church Commissioners was intended for living agents which would include the organist and choir, a verger or a gardener working on Stag Hill.
The Provost had had communication with four influential residents of Guildford as to the possibility of building a school to meet the demands of those unable to find places in the Grammar School. There was a likelihood of such a project receiving a strong local support.
