Cathedral Minutes October 1951
The Provost had consulted the Bishop with the proposal that Canons should be entitled to wear a a tippett or a scarf but the Bishop didn’t seem interested in the idea. However the Chapter were in favour of pursuing the matter and decided a sample design should be obtained and if approved, the Bishop should be consulted again.
The Cathedral Organist, Peter Goodman had been appointed as organist at Holy Trinity, Hull and Ronald Dussek had been appointed as his successor.
On the advice of doctors the Provost and Rector of the Cathedral Church was resigning from December 1st. This was a great blow to him as he had been very happy in his work.
