Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Guildford New Cathedral Council, February 1965
Since the work on the South Garth was nearing completion it was desirable that the decision be taken regarding the work on the North Garth.
It was proposed to provide an inscription in the Cathedral to accord the work done by Miss Iredale over a period of ten years, over which some £500,000 had been raised towards the cost of the Cathedral, the matter would be discussed at the next meeting of the Executive Committee.
Attention was drawn to a proposal made that an area should be set aside and properly furnished outside the Cathedral for the reception of cremated ashes.
