Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Guildford New Cathedral Council, November 1968
A warm welcome was given to the Very Rev. A.C. Bridge, the Dean of Guildford and to the Venerable J.M. Evans, the new Archdeacon of Surrey at their first attendance at the meeting of the Committee.
After a suggestion from the Dean it was agreed that the Dean and Chapter took over financial and management responsibility for the Refectory and the Sales Shop, at a date to be agreed between the Dean and Chapter and the Friends. Following this the previous agreement would be cancelled.
Alterations to the constitution were discussed. It was agreed to summon an extraordinary General Meeting of the Cathedral Council on Tuesday December 17th 1968 to consider and if thought fit, to pass the special resolutions regarding the alterations to the constitution.
It was agreed that the Dean should assemble a small committee to make arrangements for printing, circularisation and other matters necessary to launch the Friends, which hoped could be arranged for January 1st 1969 or as near as possible.
Mrs S.K. Woolfitt had resigned from October 31st, under her management the Refectory had maintained a very high standard and had raised a considerable sum for the benefit of the Building Fund.
