Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Guildford New Cathedral Fund January 1958
Alternative suggestions to the present policy for building the nave were discussed.
Miss Iredale thanked the committee for the expression of appreciation for her work which was given at the last committee meeting. She had been hoping to retire in April but realised this might make it difficult to raise the necessary funds by 1959.
‘The committee unanimously affirmed its conviction that the present policy of lay leadership of the Council and the Executive should be continued and strengthened.’ In response to this Miss Iredale stated she would do her utmost to continue to serve the committee effectively.
The Chairman briefly reported on an issue between the Diocesan Board of Finance and the Charity Commission about the use of land at Stag Hill.
