Minutes of the Tenth Annual General Meeting of Guildford New Cathedral Council, April 1964
There was a report from the Executive Committee stating that there had been an informal meeting on April 2nd 1964, with Sir Edward Maufe and Colonel Dove. As a result from information from Lord Bridges and Lord Hamilton and with the support of the Bishop and the Dean, the Committee now wished to recommend to the Council that orders be placed to proceed with the work on the South Garth as soon as the bricklayers had completed their work on the Chapter House, in about one months time.
Information of the decision to build the South Garth and the urgent need for further funds should be circulated by the Secretary to the press as quickly as possible.
