Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Friends of Guildford Cathedral February 1970
The Secretary had hoped to reduce the expenditure on repairs but unfortunately the roof on the Women’s toilet had collapsed due to age and it was essential to have this repaired.
There was more discussion on the master plan for the Cathedral grounds.
Going on last year’s experience it was unlikely there would be a large attendance at this year’s Annual General Meeting. It was agreed to leave the final details to the Chairman and Secretary so a report could be sent to all members of the Friends. The date was to be June 20th 1970.
The Chairman informed the committee that he had asked Mr. Nye who had been appointed as Surveyor to the Cathedral Fabric, to produce plans and ideas for permanent lighting in the Nave to replace the temporary lighting. A grant of £100 was approved to enable him to produce mock-ups.
