Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Friends of Guildford Cathedral June 1970
There is a list of work carried out to the Cathedral and the grounds. There had been considerably more trouble with the car park than had been expected and this is detailed.
Guildford Park Farm had been used as a dumping ground. The council had now cleared the whole area. Top soil was laid and ground reseeded. £450 was granted for this and the area was to be fenced.
Numerous complaints had been received about the inefficiency of the microphone system. It was agreed this was a matter of importance and a grant of £400 was proposed to improve the system.
it was agreed that the Secretary should receive an extra £500 in salary payable by the Friends, making his total salary £1,500 as he was doing his work with fewer staff.
