Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Friends of Guildford Cathedral, July 1969
The Committee discussed the principles to be adopted in carrying out the objects of the Council. It was decided that the Committee would always welcome suggestions and requests from the Dean and Chapter and in principle would do their best to help. But the Committee was quite categorical in stating that the friends must retain freedom of choice on any project and have a very large say in how money was granted to be spent. The Friends must also have the right to come forward, themselves, with suggestions for the Dean and Chapter to consider.
There was a list for ideas of projects.
The committee discussed expenses of Warden. They agreed to leave decision on this matter until the end of the year when more accurate information would be available.
