The First Meeting of the Executive Committee of the F.O.G.C.
It was agreed that the first General Meeting of the Friends should be held in the Nave of the Cathedral on Saturday June 21st 1969.
The Dean announced that the Dean and Chapter had taken over the Refectory and shop as from March 1st, 1969 and would be responsible for their management as from that date.
The Dean reported he had appointed Mr J. Bellamy as Warden of the Cathedral, it was his intention that Mr Bellamy should also become Secretary of the Friends of the Cathedral.
The Dean announced he had provisionally fixed certain rates of subscription in order that literature and other matters might be put in hand.
The Hon. Secretary was requested to give notice to the landlord when paying the rent of offices in Hillcrest, Quarry Street, Guildford on March the 25th next, that the Friends would be quitting the premises at the end of the June quarter. The Dean undertook to provide suitable accommodation for an office within the Cathedral.
