Committee Meeting of the Broderers Guild June 1954
About a hundred kneelers were in hand. The Provost thanked Miss Purves for all that she was doing.
Miss Isaac who worked the white frontal for the High Altar had died.
Exhibitions of work at Guildford and Dorking and elsewhere were suggested.
Patterns of surplices were shown by Lady Maufe and were to be submitted to The Chapter.
It was proposed that a weekly centre for white work should be opened. Mrs Bray submitted that there would be twenty boys and eight men (amended to 12) requiring surplices at an average cost of £2.15. £150 was required for making up kneelers, the Committee discussed the means of raising the necessary money.
