Committee Meeting of the Broderers Guild, June 1960
The sub-committee that met on September 29th 1959 decided it was best to hold the Exhibition of Kneelers in the Cathedral and to rely on a box of donations to get funds for upholstery. The suggested dates were between April 12th to May 1st 1960.
Mrs Wilson reported that nearly all requirements on the Provost list were complete also the first set of surplices except for the extra ones required because of changing numbers. All the surplices of the second set were out again with the exception of the extra ones.
Miss Charleston offered a banner in memory of her brother the subject was the Holy Spirit, a dove descending with angels. Lady Maufe had seen it and said it was quite superlatively beautiful work although not quite in the tradition of the Cathedral. The pole and the cross piece would be part of the gift from the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, so there was no expense involved for the Cathedral.
