Competition for the design of Guildford Cathedral 1931 - 1932
Booklet : ‘Conditions of final competition for designs for the Guildford Cathedral [1931].
The competition was promoted by the Guildford Cathedral Committee. Five architects were selected to submit designs : Harold Gibbons; Messrs Thomas Worthington; A G Crimp; E Maufe and W S Palmer Jones. The architects were required to submit their designs by 25 June 1932. The Jury of five members were Earl of Middleton; Archdeacon of Surrey; Walter Tapper ARA; Curtis Green ARA and Philip Johnston . Various conditions relating to cost and size of the building are stipulated together with conditions and instructions for the format of the designs.
