Stuart Legacy - Crib
Correspondence concerning the application of a legacy of £250 from Miss Florence Louise Stuart to the purchase of ‘an object of beauty which will appeal to the imagination of children’ for the Children’s Chapel. Extensive correspondence, partly detailed below, concerning its possible application to the design and creation of a crystal cross as planned by the architect, including views expressed by Miss Winifred Davey and Sir Edward Maufe, before a final purchase of crib figures is made.
