Cathedral Minutes March 1953
The new Diocese had started its life with no endowments except a two thirds share in the money attached to the ancient Archdeaconary of Surrey. There was nothing for the future for when the Cathedral at Stag Hill was built. In answering the questionnaire from the Church Commissioners it would seem that a distinction must be drawn between present and future needs. The Provost would consult with a member of the Church Commissioners.
