Cathedral Minutes October 1957
The Chapter agreed with the Provost that the main aim should be to build the whole of the nave and the narthex as this would involve comparatively little more expense.
It was important that a date for the Consecration should be fixed as soon as possible as this would require much organisation.
The details of the new processional cross met received considerable criticism.
The Chapter with the exception of the Canon Residentiary remained in opposition to a Parish Cathedral. The Provost stated that the Bishop was of the same opinion.
