Minutes of the Thirteenth Annual General Meeting of Guildford New Cathedral Council, April 1967
The Chairman of the Executive Committee reported that the only item of new capital expenditure was worked to cost approximately £650 to improve the acoustics of the Ringing Chamber in the Tower and to prevent the entrance of rainwater.
The Dean reported that after discussion with Miss Iredale’s family, with the Dean and Chapter and with the Executive Committee of the Council, it had been agreed that the memorial would take the form of inscribed glass to the design of Moira Forsyth inserted in one of the lower squares of The Building Industries Window in the North Aisle of the Nave. The inscription would read : “Praise God for the vision, faith and hard work of Eleanora Iredale, O.B.E who was Secretary to the Cathedral Council through the great building period 1952-1962”.
