Cathedral Minutes December 1960
The Provost hoped that notices relating to the Enthronement of the new Bishop would be despatched before Easter. He gave notice that a special meeting of the Chapter would be held when the Congé d’elire was granted.
The Provost reported that in his view, a rough estimate between £1,200 and £1,300 p.a would be required to run the choir. This included the Lay Clerks and the Choir but not the Organist, it was possible there would have to be a school bus from Lanesborough, the cost of which he could not estimate.
A discussion was held on the memorandum dealing with the administration of the Cathedral (a copy of which is enclosed).
The Provost reported that due to a recent national wage increase awarded to organ builders’ workers, the cost of the organ was expected to be increased by a further £650.
The Provost commented on his views of the main functions of the new Cathedral.
